As part of the «huge» Game Pass news at X019, The Escapists 2 was announced as coming to Xbox Game Pass during this «holiday» period. There was no firm date given for the game to be added into the service. However, the strategy-sim is available to download and play now on Xbox Game Pass for console.
At X019 The Escapists 2 was also mentioned as coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC, although this hasn’t appeared on the PC or mobile apps just yet.
The Escapists 2 is described as the ultimate prison sandbox. Players can risk it all to breakout from the toughest prisons, all with multiple floors, roofs, vents and underground tunnels. You will have to live by prison rules, attending roll call each day, working prison jobs and following strict routines, all while secretly plotting how to escape the varying maximum security facilities.
You can play with up to three friends to create and hatch the ultimate escape plan in both online and couch co-op. Working together allows for more elaborate and daring plans, or go head-to-head in Versus mode and see who can break out prison the quickest.
A new combat system has also been introduced to The Escapists 2. You will now have to block and tie together chains of attacks whilst strafing to win a punch-up in the prison yard.
The Escapists 2 achievement list is going to take you a long time to get through with an estimated 25-30 hour completion time. Prepare for that grind if you’re going for a completion of the base game. There are another three DLC packs each with their own achievement lists.
In other Xbox Game Pass news, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is making its way to Game Pass for console on December 19th, the day before the release of the new Witcher series on Netflix. Can you smell the lilac and gooseberries already?
